£2million boost for Ulsterbus Tours

29 June 2005

Following a particularly successful three years Ulsterbus Tours will be investing over £2million in twelve new state of the art coaches. Ulsterbus has recently taken delivery of the first four coaches with the remainder due to arrive next year.

The highly specified coaches boast built-in vacuum cleaners, their own portable exterior wash systems, hot water and DVD players.

“We are delighted with the new additions”, explained David Leathem, Translink Travel Centre Manager. “Fitted with features like air-conditioning, climate control, fridge and leather headrest inserts, these high-tech coaches will have a significant impact in the delivery of a modern, safe, high quality service. Two of our new coaches even have automated gear boxes which are not only more economical with fuel but also allow the driver greater control of the vehicle.”

“These new Ulsterbus Tours coaches deliver an even greater level of luxury that passengers have come to expect. By replacing some of our older coaches with these new ones we are also able to keep the average fleet age low.

“Our goal is to continuously improve the quality of our service and we have paid particular attention to the coach interiors. Quality and comfort are an essential part of any journey and the addition of these new modern coaches demonstrates our commitment towards delivering a quality service for local passengers and tourists alike. Indeed we are delighted to announce that Ulsterbus Tours has been awarded the Coach Marque Certificate of Excellence by the Confederation of Passenger Transport.

Currently Ulsterbus Tours offers a wide range of tours within Ireland, the UK and Europe and includes destinations to cater for all tastes and budgets. European destinations include the Alps, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, while closer to home passengers can visit the Lake District' in England and Dunkeld House in the heart of Scotland. The type of tours on offer include Daytours, Education Tours, Short Breaks and Quality Coach Holidays.
