Svyatoslav Kustov, NIR’s Alastair Kitson and Andrei Penkovsky.

NI Railways Alastair Kitson is delighted to welcome a group of young people from Chernobyl to Central Station

The children, staying with host families, were on holiday in Northern Ireland and are pictured waiting to board a train for a fun day out to Bangor.  Many of the group had never been on a train and they were very excited!

Alastair Kitson, NIR said “We are delighted to once again be involved with the Chernobyl Children Appeal NI, the commitment of the host families gives these children the opportunity to have a well deserved holiday.”

The children travelled to Northern Ireland thanks to the Chernobyl Children Appeal NI.  The children come from an area still devastated by high levels of nuclear radiation resulting from the explosion at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl in 1986.

To open your home as a host family or to make a donation please contact the Chernobyl Children Appeal NI on (028) 256
