New improved Ulsterbus services take to the roads in Cookstown

9th September 2008:

From 29th September Ulsterbus passengers in the Cookstown area are set to benefit from a new Town Service with new fully accessible services 390 A B designed to meet the needs of local passengers

This will mean regular and more frequent buses throughout the day with a clock face timetable that’s easy to understand.

The new service will operate at regular intervals throughout the day providing valuable links with the residential areas of Maloon, Monrush, Coolnafranky, Greenvale and Stewart Ave. In addition modern bus stops will also be introduced.

Passengers will also be able to benefit from a new £1.70 promotional fare offering unlimited travel on these local town services.

Speaking about the Ulsterbus review Translink’s Martin Lundy said, “We are delighted to be able to offer our customers in Cookstown this new service and are confident that they will be welcomed by the local community.

“Low floor vehicles will be used on all Town Services enabling us to improve accessibility for parents with small children as well as those with mobility difficulties” he added.

“Public transport has a significant contribution to make towards delivering modern, healthy and efficient towns. As such we are committed to delivering a growing integrated public transport network, which will ultimately support the economic growth and social development of the region.”
