Pupil Passes

A Pupil Pass card offers parents much more than money-off school bus and rail fares. There’s also greater convenience and peace of mind.

Single or return, home to school pupil passes are valid for the full school year saving you money and hassle.

Home to school

Education and Library Board (ELB) school travel passes allow pupils to travel from home to school free of charge. However ELB passes are only issued to certain pupils who meet specific rules and criteria set by the Education Library Boards. All other pupils who do not receive an ELB pupil pass can apply to purchase a Translink Pupil Pass regardless of where they live and which school they go to.

Ticket prices

Significant savings can be made with a Translink Pupil Pass. Prices are based on the corresponding fares for the journeys which the pupil will make every day. Tickets will be valid for travel from Monday to Friday during term time only and are not valid during school holidays.

How to apply

Pick up an application form from main bus and rail stations, from the address shown below, or call 028 9035 4074.

Payment

On receipt of your application, Translink will advise you, by post, of the relevant fare. Once you confirm that you wish to proceed with purchasing the pass you must decide whether you wish to pay in full to receive an additional 4% discount or by monthly direct debit (credit card payments are also accepted). The Translink Pupil Pass will then be sent to you at your home address.

To ensure that your child has a ticket of the beginning of the school term, completed application forms should be sent as soon as possible to:
